Ford didn't hide it from the US gov. Mostly because the gov didn't know it was a problem. So since nobody asked they didn't tell anyone. Remember the tire thing started in Columbia more then two years ago. Also the US companies have done their own denying in the past. Currently under Japanese investigation is Nissan and Honda. So add these to you're list as well. One of the cars known for reliability in the US (Honda) is in the same boat. The problems didn't include the Evo, nobody I have ever talked to over here has had any relaibility problems with their cars and they just kick ass. So yah I'm still going to buy one. Also if you ask people here they would tell you that it Subaru with a tranny problem.
