Pontiac did something similar with the awkward 5.3L 303hp FWD setup in the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Even more awkward was the reverse staggered wheel setup (18x8 front, 18x7 rear).
However, I applaud them for doing the right thing. Functionally, the car should have more tire up front.
An STi, or WRX, for that matter, technically should also be running more rubber up front given it's weight distribution.
But the public would rather have more understeer than be awkward I guess.
