You have left out a lot of info that leads to many assumptions:
-Yes mechanically it will drop right in.
-Yes your 05 heads will swap right onto that short block.
-No you cant just drop the full 2.2L long block with its current heads and think it will run. Plugs sensors and other bits are different, and because of that your ECU will go "No Sir I dont like it!"
-No your current intake manifold will not bolt right up to the 2.2L heads. The blot spacing is slightly different or if its a real old 2.2L intake mani bolt spacing is way off.
-??? I dont remember if there was a single port 2.2L or not and or what years they ran if so?? The exhaust "manifolds/bolt to flange patterns" are different, depending on if its a single port exhaust or dual port exhaust 2.2L they may not even bolt up at all.
-??? If its and old 2.2L its going to be a 4 bolt bell housing. Yes it will bolt up but you will have 2 extra holes on the trans with non in the motor side.
If your looking to just use the 2.2L bottom end and swap over your heads its a easy swap and basically like doing a head gasket job with new timing bits corresponding what ever heads you use.
