That is one of the most important things I think regardless of break-in opinions is to make sure the car is warmed up. The only time I moved my car when it was just start was reverse out of driveway then first back in to move the cars.
The manual specifically says do not drive the car if it's not warmed up. I'm not a mechanic but there has to be some downside to doing that to the poor car.
As long as you're not driving hard while it's warming up then there really isn't any problem. The only thing warming up for 15 minutes before driving does is warm the cabin, defrost if icy and waste gas.
It will warm up quicker if you drive it.
