Sounds like it's most likely the center diff going up. I've seen a lot of them go bad with higher miles. Like drewmob posted, it will do it once the trans warms up.

let the car sit dead cold and do some tight turns/circles. then drive the car a little to get the trans temp up then do it again, if it starts binding up the center diff is failing
