Here is my setup:
Stock 2002 WRX wiring harness
Version 8 EJ207
JDM Version 8 ECU
6 Speed Transmission
IA Performance AVCS Harness
Version 8 ECU (Romraider, ECU flashed base map @ 91 octane)
Just swapped in my EJ207 this weekend and am having trouble getting it to run. I first went ahead and confirmed spark and fuel by pulling a plug and laying it on the motor while I cranked it. While/after cranking, strong fumes of fuel are present and I can see the spark on the plug. I then checked compression just to be sure and I'm, in fact, seeing 120 PSI.
The one thing I wasn't able to check that I'd like to is the ignition timing, which I think is the problem, but I'm not quite sure how to do this. I thinking it's 180 degrees out? I was able to successfully write the map to the ECU using my tactrix cable, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. I would expect some kind of sign of ignition like a pop, or backfire or cough if the timing was even remotely close, but I'm not.
Any ideas? I'm at a loss. I'm SO close, it must be something simple.
