Default OR: 2005 RSTI --- FULL RS to STI CONVERSION --- NEW PICS (Post #73)

I hate to do this, but its time to sell the garage queen and move on. To call this just "a swap" would be an injustice...

The shell and frame of this car began life as a 2005 2.5RS in the color Platinum Silver Metallic. It is accident-free and I have the clean, clear title in hand. Everything else; the entire drivetrain, steering, suspension, cooling system, brakes, harnesses, ecu, dash, etc. etc. came from a 2005 California STI with only 16,506 miles on the odo. I have the title from it too.

The RSTI now has 49,844 miles, though that will probably increase a bit since I plan to drive it any time the sun shines and I have the chance before it sells, cuz I know I'm going to miss it dearly when its gone. While it does have the nicks and scratches of an eight year old car, it has been meticulously maintained; washed, clay-barred & waxed routinely and is virtually rust-free.

Though the motor is pretty much stock, I have made a number of small modifications to the RSTI that I think make it better than the oem STI, both cosmetically and mechanically. Here is the list, covering the oem highlights and all of the mods that I can remember right now:

2005 STI 2.5L w/ Stock 6 spd Transmission with 49,8xx Miles
Group-N Motor, Transmission, & Pitch Stop Mounts
Redline fluids in Tranny & Differentials
Fresh Full-synthetic Oil every 3,000 miles since purchased

Feal Custom Re-valved oem STI Struts w/ Shortened Bumpstops and Zerk Fittings (20% firmer than stock & easy to re-grease)
Swift Springs (Approx. 1" lower than stock)
Group-N Front & Rear Strut Mounts (Top Hats)
Spec RA-R Lateral Links w/ Pillowball Bushings
New oem rear Swaybar Mounts & Bushings March 23, 2013
Professional Alignment done April 3, 2013

STI oem Brembo Calipers & Rotors (turned once, when new pads were installed)
Hawk HPS Brake Pads (used approx. 12k miles)
Goodrich Stainless Brake Lines

Wheels & Tires:
OEM BBS 17x8 Wheels
Brand new Nitto "Motivo" UHP All-Season Tires in 225/45-17
Subaru Locking Lugnuts & Key

05+ STI Rear Bumper & Fender Arches
05 STI Hood, Scoop, & Splitter
STI Headlights w/ Levelers
STI Ltd. Roof Wing (oem)
STI Ltd. Trunk Lip (oem)
STI Ltd. Style Urethane Front Lower Lip (JNA Performance)
PSM painted WRX Sideskirts (because I prefer them to the STI skirts)
Badgeless Grille (Professionally modified & painted by Artistic Auto Body who also did the paint matching on the above parts)
De-badged Trunk Lid

STI Ltd. Dash and Center Console with Production Number Badge (#052/800)
STI Ltd. Heated Cloth Front Seats
WRX Ltd. Black Carpet over Dynamat (sound deadening material)
WRX Black Door Cards
Wrx Black Rear Seat w/Pass-through
Custom Micro-Suede Headliner
STI Embroidered Black Carpet Floor Mats
STI Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror
2010 STI Steering Wheel w/red stitching & with fully functional Onboard Controls (stereo & cruise control)
Kenwood DDX516 Touch Screen Double-Din Head Unit
USB & Ipod Connectivity (Ipod & USB connector in Glovebox)
Bluetooth Module w/ Microphone
Infinity Kappa Component Front & Rear Speakers
Under-seat mounted Subwoofer

The bottom line....
You can buy this STI at Lexus of Portland for $26,000>

-OR- You can buy mine FOR $18,500

Oh.... I almost forgot... Ask me about the cost of car insurance for this car versus the oem STI! (wink wink)
