Not entirely, when you wet sand you're essentially damaging and cutting into the clear coat to get a deeper scratch or imperfection out. Then you repair that wet sanded area. (Simple way of putting it). DA polishers were not designed to repair sanding marks, while it has been done, it's not recommended.

(Sorry for any confusion, I missed the wet sanding part in your one post)

...but are you positive you need to wet sand? Wet sanding can get you into some serious trouble.

What exactly are you trying to do, conquer and what outcome do you want? I'm kind of lost now. Also, what have you done so far?
