I'm running a wilwood compact... its 3 1/4" long, And i have maybe 3/16" of clearance from the master cylinder to the head. Also my throttle body touches on the underhood insulation... pretty much the only good location on fitting the engine in the bay, highest up without cutting the hood... Like to see your pics of your with the clutch line installed...

But i do believe 7/8" master cylinder is the correct size for a Ls1 slave cylinder
