This isn't a Jensen head unit, it's Fujitsu Ten.. Parent Company of Eclipse.

Anyway, the hunt continues. Your assumption that all OEM head units suck is probably well-rooted in Subaru history (The HU on our '05 Baja wasn't good), but I just can't imagine that it applies anymore across the board.
