In first gear, yes. Less so in 2nd and up. My car probably does it even worse than yours since I have more mechanical parts in my transmission/diffs. If I'm in heavy traffic, I usually try to stay in second gear, as it's less jerky.

Third and fourth gears shouldn't be jerky like first and second while driving at a steady speed.
