I don't think the fuse method works on my 98. I've left it pulled overnight but when I start the engine it starts up like nothing ever happened. Fuel milage afterwards stays the same too.
On the other hand, when I unplugg the battery terminal, there is a noticeable difference in idle and engine behavior at startup. Gas milage dips initally, then climbs back up.
Also, radio presets don't change after battery disconnect. Only the clock needs to be reset.
For those of you who have the alarm, try stuffing the alarm horn with a towel -- it reduces the "heart-attack" factor.
