I second the fuel lines from your discription of location. Did they lead to a black can looking thing in the driver corner front (fuel filter)? Seems odd that they leaked but if they where a bit loose I can see it. Since the car was sitting for a while the system was not pressureized anymore. I guess when you cranked it up the pressure came back up and it could have squited some fuel out of the lines if they where loose, and this could explain the slow cranking time.
How did it run for the 130miles home? Any fluid once you got home?
