hey, i know nothing about suspension, but isn't it the SPRING that is weight-critical since the spring rate is designed based on the load on the spring whereas the strut's function is just to dampen the spring? So as long as you have the right spring, then the rate that it vibrates is the close to the same as for the lighter car (i.e. the Eibach Imprezza spring & Eibach Legacy springs are designed for the different weights of the 2 cars, but yield similar rides), and the dampening needed would be the same. Ok, clearly I'm talkin' outta my ass here
