(Knock on wood ) The thing about flushing out possible machining contaminants and loose gasket materials in a new engine is very important--you don't want those foreign materials circulating in your oil for 3000 miles, no way. Great way to put a lot of unnecessary "mileage" on your brand new engine.
Nah, Nah, Nah, everything you said holds for my engine at 78,000 miles, and I followed my own paranoid path.
