This is normal!

It is a combination of both the hydraulic lashers and piston slap.

MY00RS does this all the time when it is cold.
A few weeks ago it was -9.4 degrees Fahrenheit (-23C) in Ottawa and I thought my car was going to knock its-self to death, but it warmed up and the noise went away and it drove fine. All hail Subaru

Just be sure to let it warm up before you get heavy on the throttle.
