Wrapping it in suede or alcantra fabric will be a huge headache if you are not skilled at automotive upholstery, ask me how I found that one out
. Real genuine alcantara is very expensive and not really worth it for a race car IMO. I found the easiest, most cost effective way to do it is just by flocking the dash with fibers. I did this in my spec miata race car and had fantastic results. I am thinking about offering a service to do dashboards locally here in California because I have had so many people comment on how great/functional it is. Definitely do it if you have the dash out...
