Some details I gathered from Giorgio Provinciali at Advanced Sports Engineering Lab..

VF58 (ST14411ZR010) ~$3,500+
"The ultimate iteration" and rarest IHI Subaru Turbocharger
Used on the S206, S207, S208, Type RA-R
Twin scroll turbine housing
Revised, better performing & more durable ball bearing CHRA (in comparison to VF56)
Compressor housing designed for DBW throttle body
Larger, tapered 54.2mm turbo inlet (like all new gen IHIs)
6+6 blade compressor wheel w/ upgraded straight blade profile (VF56 has curved profile like the other VFs)
9 blade Titanium Aluminide (TiAl) turbine wheel & shaft for improved spool & response (same as VF56)
Upgraded S" marked IWG actuator for holding more boost at lower WG duties.
~350+ whp - Safe to ~1.6 bar (23 psi)

ASEL offers rebuilds and upgrades for these rare VF turbos. I'm in no way affiliated with them, but find their work very impressive. They own the only VF58 ever sold by IHI to the public.

Some of their services:
  • Ceramic dual ball bearing conversions (instead of normal steel)
  • 6+6 straight blade billet compressor wheel (instead of curved, nickel)
  • Inconel 713c turbine wheel & shaft (instead of nickel alloy oem on non-TiAl versions)
  • Upgraded IWG actuator
  • Reconditioning & balancing of whole CHRA assembly on Schenck machine w/ balancing certificate.

Combining the R205's dedicated high flow catalyzer and S208's IHI VF58 can now output a peak of power at about 7200 rpm (rpms are electronically limited to 8250) and an almost-zero lag twinscroll boost which peaks max torque from 2500-2800 to 4800 rpm. This is the ultimate iteration.

VF58 (ST14411ZR010) is stock on s206/207/208.

Both have 9 blades TiAl exhaust wheel, ecc***8230;

VF52 has same compressor wheel diameter size as 56/58 and its compressor is 100% interchangeable over their CHRAs (housings are not)

56/58 are very rare and expensive

VF58 turbo inlet ID = 54.2mm
After much searching.. I was able to find a dyno of a tuned EJ207 w/ the VF56. A VF58 should squeeze out a bit more power.
340 whp
477 n-m (~352 lb-ft)
98 RON (~93-94 AKI)
