its easier with two people. You could brace the crank pulley somehow but I've never tried by myself.

but you need to hold the crank bolt. Use a breaker bar
Every time I do one I use a breaker bar and have someone else check it for me. Never had the crank bolt come undone.

I usually slowly turn the crank clockwise until I get almost 1:1 pressure ratio, around 10 or 15 psi.

Then I hold it there and have that person crank it til it hits ~100. its going to be a PITA to hold but you only need to do so until 90 psi. but if you are truly getting 100% leakdown you have a cracked ringland or bad valve.
