Glad to hear you got it figured out.

I'd be surprised if you noticed a rougher idle, even in cold starts.

It's a reasonable theory based on what the TGVs (better atomization) and when (my LGT only has them active at startup (some later models use them more)) but I have yet to hear of a first-hand report from someone who did cold starts with them, did a swap, and did cold starts without them.

One of the guys at LegacyGT.com, who lives in Canada and uses a block heater in the winter, said his car still started and idled just fine with the TGVs removed, even in the winter.

There was a time (and maybe it's still true) that TGVs were a USDM-only thing (or at least, they weren't used in JDM cars). So I'm pretty sure they're strictly for post-startup emissions.

And you don't need a tune for them.

And people create vacuum leaks while doing the delete all the time, so that was my guess too.
