When subject to that much stress, it is common that a 3/8" drive T70 and/or its counterparts will fail that way. Even though a 3/8" drive T70 may work, we strongly recommend 1/2" drive T70 sockets if being used on Subaru transmission drain plugs (especially if its the very first time being removed). The 3/8" drive T70 is better suited for the Chevrolet truck brake application (though we would still suggest using a 1/2" drive for that too).
