Some added history to Y2k4Door's post. In '86 the Audi Quattro S1 sport had just over 600h. HB Audi Sport world rally team did a practice at Estoril (Portugal) that season. The times Walter Rorhl turned would have qualified him for 6th in the F1 Grand Prix race that year!
After the crowd mowing RS200 shunt during the Rallye de Portugal, and Henri Toivonen's tragic and controversial death during the Tour de Corse, group B was banned. Almost simultaenously, Audi pulled out of rallying. Just prior to dropping the rally program, Audi Sport had a 1,000+ h.p. engine ready to go. It was never used in FIA WRC competiton.
