The Gear set ratios make no difference.

Also- Variations in if the trans has Vehicle Speed Sensor, (VSS) nor not. '08-and later went to ABS, no sensor in the trans.

Variations in Front axles Female (roll pin style Usually '04 and earlier) or Male (clip in) axle interface.

Bottom of the list you should have a TY754VC7AA , 3.900 FINAL, with a 1.000, Transfer = Only other on the list similar would be 05-07 LEGACY, {forester and outback WILL NOT WORK UNLESS swapped with the matching Rear Diff assembly.}
Awesome, good to know! I had seen on a Subaru used parts site the 06-07 numbers were different than before years and after which sort of tipped me off.
