200hp in 3,500lbs... sadness incarnate right there....

People: the BRZ/miata are underpowered
Ford: Hold my beer!

seriously though, anything less than that TC 2.3L is a waste of time in a chassis that heavy with a... "Grand Touring" suspension setup... I mean, don't get me wrong, for how heavy it is the Mustang is surprisingly controlled and tossable, but it's nothing near the levels of a miata handling/chassis chatting (haven't driven a BRZ, so I can't comment); the Mustang party trick is the DOHC 5.0 under the hood that makes up for the shortcomings in the handling department; had you driven the prior gens you'd understand why I think the S550 does a good job, sure, the GT350 is oodles better in the handling department (did I just use the word oodles?) but whenever I drive an S550 Mustang, I'm not upset, maybe that's because I've driven the Charger and I know how bad it can be, like "late 80's Camaro trying to make itself handle by throwing wide rubber at the problem" bad.
I remember trying to make my Fox handle, sub-frame connectors, strut tower brace, tubular K-member, SN95 spindles, full suspension beyond that, & I'm going to call it "fender rolling" but in reality it was trying to cram as much rubber under all four corners as humanly & mechanically possible, tire punishing front camber, and the stickiest rubber on the market. In the end I had a well handling light weight monster that was horrible at normal speeds and under normal driving conditions, but man, windy wooded backroads, I lived for those. The S550 does an amazing job while being comfortable.
