No need to argue or point fingers lol. Nobody held a gun to my head and ordered me to buy new coilpacks lmao. They were crusty and old so I figured I might as well replace them anyway. Everyone is just trying to help and I appreciate everyone's opinion/experience.

Yes, I should've regapped the plugs first but I didn't for 2 reasons:

1. The packaging said not to. I only read the packaging at the point of installing them. I already had the old plugs out and had to make a choice then and there as to whether I was going to regap and I decided not to.
2. I installed the same plugs previously on my stock EJ20K powered STi without gapping and with no issue so I just did the same.

I'm leaning towards this being an electrical issue possibly. There was one day about a month or 2 ago where there was no issue or flashing CEL, regardless of how I drove. The only thing noteworthy I can remember about that day is the weather was warmer (12***8304; C VS below freezing normally).

The other thing to note is the issue is RPM related, more than it is best related. Ex) It will misfire at 5100rpm regardless of whether I'm at holding light throttle or WOT at full boost.
just my experience with aftermarket trash, there seems to be about a 50 50 shot of it actually working. but the oem stuff seems to be alot better as far as being good right out of the box, if you are going to buy aftermarket, try to buy denso
