This is not too hard, if you use a 08-10 STI mirror it would be plug and play. With a 11-13 STI mirror you could make a 5 min plug swap between mirrors and work as well. You wouldn't have the heating function of the 11-13 mirrors but the signal would work.

DIY options exist here, you can get the signal units and caps and add them in yourself. Requires disassembly and reassembly of your mirror to add the wiring. I get a lot of mirror parts from importing JDM folding mirrors so I have sets of signals and wires and caps available from time to time. You can't buy the internal signal wiring from Subaru so my sets make it easier many have added the signals that way.
You can paint your own mirror caps too, I have painted a few of them, using matched cans from paintscratch.com, see below those caps were painted in my garage.
Its all a question of where you fall on the "available money vs available time" curve...
