Arcadia Green

Default coolant

Remember, our radiators call for a phosphate-free or silicate-free coolant. I can't remember which one. I bought Havoline anti-freeze, which was both phosphate and silicate free. Also, use distilled water to mix with your $5 a gallon phosphate and silicate free anti-freeze, $1 a gallon. Tap water has too many contaminates that can cause trouble down the road inside your radiator. Its the orange stuff, and its not that much more expensive than regular green anti-freeze. Remember to leave the heater wide open when you start your car up if you decide to do the coolant swap. Bleed the system with the radiator cap off and squeeze the upper radiator hose several times slowly. I hate to keep going on, but if you do decide to switch from green to orange, make sure you get all the green anti-freeze out. I did this by draining the green completely out, filled it back up with just water and let it idle, drained again, filled with water once more and drained a second time. You probably know all this stuff already, but that's my $0.02.
