Well, for your panning shot it's most likely DOF, but you've got no EXIF info so I can't see what aperture you're using. For the rolling shot (which also doesn't have EXIF), it's most likely a combination of camera shake and shutter speed. The rolling shot you posted isn't really sharp overall...do you remember what shutter speed you used? If this was a case of the "cheating" Landscape mode, then you might have just proved my case against using that
