When you changed your coolant did you pull the thermostat? If so you might have put the thermostat in backwards. If not you just need to take your time and get all the air out. By pulling the cap when it was warm you may have blown out most of the water and gotten more air in the system.

It does take a while to get all the air out. It helps when you try to burp it if you position the right front of the car as high as practical.

Do it on a sloped drive way if you can. If you can make the passenger side higher than the radiator it helps to get the air out to the coolant tank..

Take your time, it is not a quick process.

When you think you have it all out, Fill up your overflow bottle (beside the radiator) to slightly above the full mark. Drive the car until it gets to full temp, then park it and let it cool without taking the radiator cap off. When you park, it will usually burp some air out, and if you park it until its cold, It will try to pull coolant from the overflow bottle back into the system as it cools down.
