I have had two different top end security systems installed on my 2 cars. Both got broken into. My truck got the deck, my $450 pool stick and about $2k in cd's stolen. The car got gutted. They couldn't steel it cause they broke the ignition so they just took everything out of it.
I caught someone once on my truck and twice on my car so it could have been more times.
So basically....every car has an alarm...nobody pays attention anymore unless there's glass everywhere and the guy has a ski mask or something and at that point they care more about themselves and they just take off.
If you want to keep you car safe. Get a good alarm. Ignition kill is mandatory. Park in safe very well lit lots. In plain side. You hide your car from site that means they are hid from site while they gut it.
Basically at some point the stuff in your car isn't that safe. But with a good alarm, ignition kill you can at least save your car and hope insurance covers most of your losses...most give you $1000. Also...get renters/home ownders insurance...they'll cover your cd's and personal belonging inside the car.
If you have no warranty to care about and want the performance get something like the TurboXS ecu upgrade that you can set up multiple programs. When you park it...set it up as dead. No fuel. Or you can give them about 2 miles of fuel..haa. Let them run out of gas and be forced to run away from the car in plane day light.
once I get over my 100k warranty..or close to it..I'll be doing this.
