So I was cross-shopping quite a few devices recently. I have a gaming PC at home which I use most of the time so I really just need something for basic web browsing and media consumption around the house (in bed/on the couch) or when I go on trips. I don't need to do any actual work or anything needing a lot of processing power on it.

The devices I was looking at: Surface Pro 7, Surface Laptop 3, XPS 13 2-in-1, HP Spectre x360, and Lenovo Yoga C940. I fell in love with the Surface Pro line when I first saw them in person a few years ago and originally had my eyes set on that, but after thinking about it, I realized that I'd be using it on my lap like a traditional laptop 95% of the time and that it might not be the best or most stable device for that. Then I started looking at 2-in-1s, but then I started to realize that maybe what I'm looking at is overkill for my intended usage.

I checked out the Pixelbook Go at Best Buy and was really impressed with it. The build quality is superb, the keyboard and trackpad feels way better than any of the devices I mentioned above, and it's by far the lightest (except for the SP7 without the typecover) at around 2.1lbs. It's also significantly cheaper with a starting price of $650 for the base model. Of course it runs ChromeOS and not Windows but given the fact that all I'll use it for is Netflix and web browsing, I think it'll be just fine. I'll probably pick one up in the coming weeks.
