If you don't change your own oil you should at least inspect the work after it is done. The Quicklube places now show you your dipstick. This is to make sure they didn't forget to add oil back after they drained it, not so much to impress you.

Check under the car for leaks, check the dipstick, and check the filter and the oil fil cap. That's a good 2 minutes of time to verify that they didn't screw up.

I look over any repair not done by myself (well I actually double check after I do a job, also...) to see if there is any obvious problem.
