Is your WRX bone-stock or was it modded by the previous owner?

Anyways, there are 2 very basic parts that are all you need to gain about 50hp. First is a downpipe. Second is engine management - a Cobb AccessPort for example. There are other EM systems but Cobb seems to be the most popular and n00b-friendly as well as very effective.

The downpipe can be had for between $200-800 depending on used/new and brand. The DP just needs to eliminate the cat directly after the turbo. With that done, you can flash a 'stage 2' map to your ECU from the AP. Bam = 50 horses, no CELs, better fuel economy, smoother power delivery. The AP should be about $650.

You don't need a BOV or an intake for WRXs. The stock BOV (actually BPV) and intake are superior the every aftermarket replacement until you get to a VERY high level of modification.

As well, if you're doing stage 2 (like most people will recommend) you should replace your uppipe with a cat-less one. You can gut the OEM cat, use an STi uppipe, or go aftermarket.

Once you go stage 2, you won't need a boost controller as your EM will control that.

Enjoy your car!
