^^^ Yea but aftermarket piping won't really add any more horsepower than if you just put a cone on the end. If you have a flat K&N filter in your airbox, eliminate the airbox and get a cone. With my FWD legacy sedan, I saw a good increase in throttle response and a lot more power in the top end. My intake manifold is red because I painted it while I was rebuilding the engine. Not wrinkle red like I wanted, but I did not want to wait 5 days for shipping for the paint because the motor was ready to be dropped in, and I wanted to drive it. It's pretty simple job, take off the coil pack, plugs, fuel, vacuum, PCV and coolant hoses, coolant temp sensor, injectors, IACV, throttle body & cables and whatever else is attached to it. There are 8 bolts I believe (4 on each side), take those off, pull the IM out. Take off the fuel lines (pain in the a$$, I should have made braided fuel lines while I had this out) Cover up the intake ports on the engine so nothing gets in them. Find some red paint, lay on 2 or 3 even layers (Tape off all the openings and bolt threads, there are A LOT of them) GET NEW GASKETS, anytime you take something apart with gaskets, get new ones. Also, while you have the IM out, clean the inside & the runners, mine were very dirty. Brake parts cleaner works really well, just spray the crap out of it. Once everything is painted, throw it all back together and voila. ---NOTE--- If you do end up cleaning the inside of your IM and painting it, when you put everything back together and go to start your car, DO NOT BE AFRAID if there is tons of white smoke pouring out of your exhaust, it is just the remaining cleaning product being burnt off. Just let it idle until it burns it all off.
