Read the thread that vancouver98STi sent and it seems like the tuner was bad.
I am going on a good 1500+ miles on my ESL tuned at a place called Zen in the UK (like 1 mile down the road from ESL) and have had a GREAT experience with this. I sadly needed tuned for lower octane but went with quite a bit more boost. The starting stock tune had a lot of detonation from 6k RPMs up, and while a little may help the tuner completely removed it all to make a safe tune. The car is less high strung, way smoother and where I used to hit a wall at about 6500 RPM I now have a steady pull all the way to red line. It was really cost effective, all together it was under $600 but I didn't have to pay import or VAT on the unit so it saved me 20%. Very happy, now on to a fuel pump and injectors to squeeze a little more out of her.
