96 my is defintly OBDII, autozone can scan the codes for you for free

All auto manufacturers in the us and importing vehicles to the US had to meet OBDII requirements by my 96. So if its a MY96 it has to be OBDII, my 95 is iffy but most manufacturers made all their cars OBDII complient by mid my 95
