That sounds like either a maaco shop or someone that was super lazy . Any quality shop will have a downdraft paint both that they can bake your car in as well as walk you through all the steps in depth and show you actual quality work in their facility while your getting a walk through. In the end they should also be oriented towards your needs and what you want out of the paint .
