I have both on my white STi. I'm sure claybar will remove the flecks of rust in the paint with no problem, although I'm highly annoyed they are there in the first place. They look like they are simply impurities in the paint left over from a poor quality paint job.
The stone chips are a different story. I've seen sneezes that left a thicker coat on things than the paint/primer on my STi.
I have two rock chips that chipped about a 1/8" diameter hole in the white, followed by a 1/16" diameter chip in the gray primer underneath, followed by a nice spot of rust right in the center.
I have another chip on the driver's side fender that isn't rusted yet, but probably will soon.
BTW, I don't believe any of this is unique to the white. Some things are just more visible in the white. I know I can stand to let mine go dirty a lot longer than a coworkers black STi. If his doesn't get washed about every 5 days, it looks like crap. Mine stays fairly clean looking until I drive through a mud puddle and it splashes red clay up on the fenders.
Another thing to keep in mind....white is much cooler in the summer if you live in a warmer climate. A black car just sucks in the scalding sun.
