If you are not ever planning on raising the redline, skip the retainers. If you don't know where the road is leading, get them.

Reduced valvetrain mass is always nice, but 6250 RPM (or 6500 DOHC) is far from benifitting much from it. If you can think of something better to do with your $200.00, skip them. Neither choice is wrong, 6 inone hand, half dozen in the other.

I would spend $200.00 on retainers before I would spend $210.00 on tail lights to replace my perfectly good factory lights with some that had "clear" blinker sections instead of amber.

Many people disagree.
