As mentioned above, pumping the gas (and not just holding a certain rpm at the line) will spool the turbo nicely. I've been playing around on an open downpipe the past couple days, and when revving the engine in the 5000-5500rpm area you can hear that the turbo is already spinning pretty fast. There are a lot of different ways that people launch, I prefer to slip the clutch initially, then once the car is moving I drop the clutch to transfer all the weight to the back. I've cut 60' times as low as 1.66 so I guess this works. DCCD open and all the way to the back is the fastest, but as others have mentioned it is pretty abusive on your rear axles.
