By car guys...for car guys.

edit: i should add that an event like this one is not an inexpensive one to put on. Police detail (at least 2 for this event...) insurance, signage, staff clothing to easily identify those in the know, and proper permits to hold such an event in a location such as downtown boston.... all these things add up and they add up fast. everything is being paid for out of our pocket. as i said, we are not in this to make any money PERIOD. there is a major issue in the import tuner scene and how people see gatherings like this. properly run events will help us change that, and give enthusiasts a place to gather without having to worry about being kicked out, fined, or even arrested. its the same issues classic car guys had during the 60's 70's and even into the 80's. we are working to change all of that.
Well said Jared, let me add these events started in "Free" public areas and we were kicked out for being there. The only reason for us being kicked out was the type of cars we drove. This is directly correlated to the negative stigma surrounding modified cars. MassTuning is trying to change that by working with Boston Police and surrounding businesses to show the maturity of the community. We have had a lasting effect on the police in the downtown Boston area and they welcome us there. We hope this will spread and change the way our cars are labeled. Many forums are under the impression we are making a profit but we're not. We are trying to bring internet users, and non internet users together in one common area. I hope that we can continue to use nasioc as a place to disseminate this information, and continue to build support for both arenas.
