XOM uses any combination of Group III, IV, and V base stocks. They just don't say which oils contain which base stocks. As the performance of Group III RT6 has shown in uoa's, the end result matters more than which base stocks are used.

This is very true - with today's oil technology, it matters less what base stock the oil is made from,and more how well it actually performs for your application. T6 is a GIII, a "fake" synthetic but it outperforms many other "true" synthetics. Don't let base stock determine what oil to use, base your opinion on how well it performs in your engine.
