First, you're calling him an outright liar, citing an unfilled I club member profile as proof. I could say that yours is equally sparse, since you have just an anonymous hotmail address in yours.

Second, I'm glad to see that you can recognize and own up when you've done something foolish.

But right now, everything is hearsay. Were you there when Ebarkho (I *THINK* I know who he is, if he's the guy with the pink dyed hair who showed up at the In'N'Out in the other yellow WRX) talked to the people at Irvine about the mods, or when he first approached them to enquire about purchasing a WRX, or when they were allegedly rude to him? I wasn't, you weren't, no one here was. Those are the cold hard facts.

Personally, if I were treated rudely by a salesman, I'd make a point of buying my car elsewhere, and come back to the dealership, and ask to speak to the people who treated me shabbily, show them the car and let them know how much money they lost for their boorish, rude treatment. ( I'd like to go to Balboa Subaru when my turbo's done, and lay a fat donut for the salespukes who treated me dismissively, but they're not worthy of my scorn)

And, his isn't the only premature WRX tranny failure that I've heard about. At least one other I Club member has had a WRX tranny replaced, and he had only barely gotten past the break in period, and hadn't autocrossed or drag raced the car, and had *ZERO* engine mods. And that's not even counting the thousands of other non I Clubbers who purchased WRX's. I wouldn't be at all surprised if SOA has to issue a recall or TSB for transmission issues. The trannies are a known weak link, and I believe that the redesigned case housing may not prove sufficient to the task. But, if Subaru keeps selling WRX's, there's incentive for them to actually *FIX* the problem, even if it means making the 6 speed out of the STi the default gearbox for any manual equipped WRX.

I don't think you're a bad person, Kian, really. I have a measure of respect for you because you, at least, worked for the money to buy and modify your car at your age. Most other 17/18 year olds with a modded RS usually had it handed to them by mom and dad, and they maybe worked part time to pay for the mods.

You also have the intelligence to listen to those who know more than you (Byron at least, and Donny and Alan?), and get good engine management for your car so you don't blow the engine up, and get dog gears instead of going through an endless procession of stock trannies.

My read on this is, Ebarkho might possibly have a legitimate beef. If someone at Irvine told him that they'd work on a modded car, even install the mods for him, and then turned around and denied it because of "abuse", then they could possibly be breaking a verbal contract. Verbal contracts are just as binding as written contracts, though much more difficult to prove in court.
