Default 02-05 impreza/wrx remote start/alarm wiring..

Im bored, so Ill post these.. Yes, they are accurate, this is the same wiring I used to do my alarm/Remstart... remember to always use a DVOM!!!

* - The wires change color on one side of this connector, verify both sides

** - Provides a 2 cyl signal

*** - the Body ECU is located on the left side of the steering column

**** - the keyless entry unit is found under the driver's side dash directly above the fusepanel.

***** - You must test this wire with ignition turned on

Also, heres a little trick if you want to do remote start in a manual vehicle. Most all DEI remote starts have a blue wire called status output. This wire sends a ground before remote start engages. If you take this wire, and hook a diode up to it with the stripe pointing towards the unit, then take the other side and hook it up to the clutch wire (above) the vehicle will remote start. The diode tricks the ECM into thinking that the clutch is depressed. This way, you dont have to unplug your clutch wire and have no cruise control. A downside is that you can accidentally start the car in gear, but I put my remote start in a while ago and I've never done it, so be careful. Another cool thing about having remote start is that most all of the new ones come with a programmable turbo timer that is already hooked up when you wire the unit up. Theres a lot of cool things you can do if you understand wiring and polarity. Any questions, you can PM me... Enjoy!
