Default I had the worst day ever - but Fitzgerald in Frederick Rocks! (long)

so we headed to Frederick to visit family (impromtu reunion as an elderly great-aunt was in from California). Decided that with gas prices, low miles on the leased Trailblazer, and the fact that my dad drives way too slow - I'd drive us all down. After a great dinner, we're heading over to my cousins (in a little four-car convoy) - and as I exit 270 at Urbana, the power steering gives out. The lead car heads right when we needed to go left and I can't make the u-turn b/c I hardly steer! We limp it to the park 'n ride and realize we have no power steering fluid - Dad gets the POS into a spot, locks it, Mom unlocks to get our stuff out. Realizing we never made it, my cousin (who was the leader of our procession) comes to our rescue and we call for a tow. Two hour estimate for the tow. We get to the house and after an hour or so, figure we better head down to the truck - it was then we realized, we have no key (lost in in the above exchange and still haven't found it)! So we go down to see if it's in the truck - and when i tried to get out of the minivan i pushed the button the wrong way and my thumb made a "pop" and i'm in serious pain. So then back to the hotel, where I can't sleep. woke up in the morning and went to Fitzgeralds where i have to explain what happened - they were awesome. Got a key made (no charge), tow arranged, rental car provided. Despite the hectic Monday schedule, they got the truck in within an hour - bad news - rack & pinion shot - 2002 Trailblazer not even 21,000 miles on it. So now we were all stranded until today waiting for the part!
Fitzgerald got the POS back to me, washed and everything by 2pm and so I'm finally home and threatening to sue GM to get out of the lease, and my dealership (Day) here in Pittsburgh, (I took it in last month b/c it wasn't steering properly and Day told me it the was the AWD kicking in on dry pavement)
GM has yet to offer to pay for the hotel - they're seeing if there is anything they can do.
