For whatever reason, Subaru people make a big deal about surge tanks and fuel lines inside of the car. It's not like the fuel lines run the length of the car and right past your feet, straight from the factory...oh wait

Have you ever seen a stock tank damaged in a wreck? I havent.
But if something happens where you back your car into a tree or something on a road late at night with no help, its your choice to have the surge tank in that location where it can be destroyed and start a fire. Its unsafe to have them in the trunk period on the street, but even more so that far back. Thats why i had mine mounted like this with a firewall, and it saw limited street time.
