My service manual shows the left and right are different lengths for the 2006 WRX sedan and wagon.

Wagon rear right 357.5 mm
Wagon rear left 347.5 mm

Thatís 10 mm difference and yes itís significant and possibly dangerous since the axle isnít fully seated.

If itís seated, then itís pulling your entire suspension inwards, and it can possibly pop out of the rear differential.
