2018 Update: No changes to the car this year and I didn't make it to the track because work has been too damn busy. I did get to enjoy driving it around with the kids and wife though (one at a time of course). Only clocked 800ish miles this year.

2019 Update: I just put a deposit down to secure a slot in April to get the cage installed. In talks with a company that makes CF parts, and they happen to be working on a CF skin for the GR hatchbacks. I'll be purchasing that come January/February. Tillet B6 seats for both driver and passenger with harnesses.

The car is in fully gutted mode now. Remainder of interior is on its way out, and the dash will be next. I'm planning to remove the balance of the HVAC... I paid attention this year and I used the heat once. Adios.

So far I've pulled 50# out in the remaining interior, air bags, belts, etc. The seats weighed 92 pounds all-in. The Tillet seats are 20 combined and I'm having custom mounts made by my cage fabricator which I figure will be 10 pounds or so. Add 5-10 back for harnesses. If those numbers hold I'm down 100-10 pounds, which should easily offset the cage.

But wait! With the CF roof I should drop 15-20 pounds (removing the beams since the cage will tie the b-pillars back in). Final two airbags should be good for 5 pounds, HVAC (blower, heater, evap core) probably 20. Front doors still need the cards removed, floor insulation, and removing as much wiring as possible will add up but won't be more than 20 pounds combined I'd say. Either way, even after the cage I'm guessing I'll drop 50 pounds.

That's it for 2019 plans. 2020 I figure I'll tackle brakes, wheel/tire combo for the track, and drag spec coilovers. Maybe F/R subframes from TSS. 2021 I guess I add power.

This car may see the 2,500 pound range after all.... If I get really crazy
