Once you bring aftermarket tuning into the equation everything goes out the window. How much are you affecting the durability in the long term ? Not only for the engine but for the supporting mechanical components that were not designed for those power levels. I would also bet that the iron block EA888 isn't all that much lighter to begin with. That AMG engine is probably close to 25 grand and if VW was confident with the EA888 as is, why not boost it to 400 hp and slap into the RS/S models. They would save a ton of money and handily outperform the competition. There is a reason even the GTI to R version has some internal differences even with the 80 hp jump or so, not just a bigger turbo. My point being, the 2.5T could last much longer at those power levels and there is just much more character with that 5 cyl than a high strung 4 pot.
