Pre-packaged kits aren't bad, they just limit your options.

Autogeek.net and DetailersDomain.com have "prebuilt kits" that they put together, in DD's case I believe most of their kits are what they actually use on a regular basis. They are also vendors here.

As for an "off the shelf" solution, Megs offers some kits as well. They can usually be found at your local Pep Boys, etc.

I say go look around at some kits, then head over to autopia.org and look into their reviews section (its epic) for info on each product. After you do enough research you will probably just create your own grouping of products to fit your needs.

Also don't forget about your wash media (mitts, sponges) and microfiber (drying, wax removal) as these items are more important than most people realize.
